Limited Warranty
Effective: September 1, 2023
Limited Warranty: Sunset Lighting Design, LLC warrants to the original purchaser (the “Buyer”) of the Sunset Lighting Design LED Lanai Lights purchased (the “Product”), that the Product will be free from material defects in workmanship and materials under normal use and service. This limited warranty extends for a period of five (5) years from the date of purchase of the lights. Power supplies are also covered for a period of five (5) years, while control units such as remotes and receivers are covered for a period of two (2) years. This limited warranty does not cover the cost of field labor or expenses related to the repair or replacement of the Product. Proof of original purchase date is required for this limited warranty to apply.
If after examination of the returned product, the Product is confirmed as defective during the Warranty Period, Sunset Lighting Design, LLC will repair or replace the Product without charge, F.O.B. Sunset Lighting Design’s designated facility.
RF Remote Control:
RF Remote control units are not designed to be stored outside, and must be stored inside the home in order to be covered under warranty. If the remote control displays evidence of being stored outside (fading, environmental contamination, etc), the warranty for the remote control is void and must be replaced at the expense of the buyer.
Wifi Receivers:
WiFi receivers (app control units) are dependent on several factors that are out of the control of Sunset Lighting Design LLC, in order to function properly; such as signal strength of wifi signal at installation location, and compatibility of the mobile device being used for the app. As such, wifi performance and/or connection of wifi controls is excluded from the warranty.
Changes made to wifi settings by the buyer, after initial installation setup, that affect the Wifi connection (such as a new router, etc) and require a service call, are not covered under warranty. This is not a defect of the Product, and is subject to a standard service call charge to be determined by the installer.
If the wifi receiver/controller no longer functions with use of a handheld RF remote and is determined to be defective, the receiver/controller will then be covered under warranty.
This warranty is effective for purchases of Product after its effective date. Sunset Lighting Design LLC reserves the right to modify this warranty from time to time. Any modification of this warranty shall be effective for all orders placed with Sunset Lighting Design LLC on or after the effective date of such revised warranty.
This warranty is void in cases of damage to the Product caused by negligence; abuse; abnormal usage; misuse; improper power supply; improper installation, damage due to acts of God; power surges; direct or indirect lighting strikes; product alteration; and maintenance or repair by someone other than Sunset Lighting Design or its sales and installation representatives.
In no event shall Sunset Lighting Design LLC be liable for incidental, compensatory, consequential, indirect, special or other damages. Sunset Lighting Design’s aggregate liability with respect to a defective product shall be limited to the monies paid to Sunset Lighting Design for that defective product.
